Now That I have Purchased a New Liner – What Should I Expect When Having My New Pool Liner Installed?

Installing a new pool liner is a complex process that requires careful attention to detail. Here are general steps from START to FINISH when we are installing a new pool liner:

  1. Measure and Order the New Liner:
    • Accurately measure the dimensions of the pool to order a new liner that fits perfectly.
  2. Schedule the Draining, Removal and Installation
    • Email, Text or Call to setup the necessary appointments before proceeding with any work as to not affect any plans a customer may have.
  3. Drain the Pool:
    • Carefully drain the pool to an appropriate location as to not flood a neighbor.
  4. Remove the Old Liner:
    • Take out the old liner, making sure to remove it completely and dispose of it in wheeled garbage cans or place it at road for the garbage service to take.
  5. Inspect and Prepare the Pool Surface:
    • Thoroughly inspect the pool’s walls and floor for any damage or imperfections.
    • Repair any cracks, gouges, or irregularities in the pool surface to ensure a smooth and even base for the new liner.
    • Some repairs may incur added charges.
  6. Unbox and Inspect the New Liner:
    • Carefully unbox the new liner and inspect it for any defects or damages. Confirm that it matches the specifications of your pool.
  7. Prepare the Liner:
    • Warm the liner in the sun to increase its flexibility, making it easier to install.
    • Unfold the liner and allow it to lay flat to relax and will help prevent wrinkles.
  8. Install the Liner:
    • Carefully position the liner in the pool, starting from the shallow end and working towards the deep end.
    • Smooth out the wrinkles and adjust the liner to fit snugly against the pool walls and floor.
    • Use a vacuum or to remove air from between the liner and the pool walls.
  9. Secure the Liner:
    • Begin filling the pool with water gradually while simultaneously adjusting and smoothing the liner to remove any remaining wrinkles.
  10. Finish the Installation:
    • Install faceplates, gaskets, and other fittings to secure the liner in place.
  11. Fill the Pool:
    • Fill the pool to about one foot of water in the shallow end and then call or text us so we can come back and remove vacuum and put remaining liner in the track.
  12. Inspect and Adjust:
    • Inspect the installed liner for any issues and make any necessary adjustments.
  13. Fill the Pool to normal operating level:
    • Turn the garden hose back on to fill the pool to the normal operating level.
  14. Once Full – Adjust the Chemicals
    • At this point the customer can start the pool and adjust chemicals as needed.

Remember that these steps provide a general overview, and specific procedure may vary based on the type of pool and liner material.
